Spit Shining Shit

So I know it has been a while since an update but that's because we've been pretty busy. Wrapped up a few shows that were all great and spent a bunch of time writing in our flooded, moldy jam space. That means the record is new complete, time has been booked to record in november and all the details of the artwork has been sent off to Branko who I know will give us something incredible. We're hoping to have it out for early 2010. CD's and Vinyl, more info on all that soon. Once everything is cleaned up I'll post the track listing and lyrics and as we record I hope to have some videos from the process so hang around here and the myspace for more on that.

While you're here go to the Art of the Underground site and buy the Orphan Choir full length as it is absolutely incredible. Then download the new Lawrence Arms 7" because it is also pretty good.

More updates to come, until then check us out in Bolton on Friday November 13th.

Dog Problems

So we just got back from two rad shows with Lemuria. Toronto was awesome, great turn out, awesome venue, great bands and all around just a good time. Thanks to Junior Battles and !Attention! for playing and being such rad dudes etc. The next day we played Ottawa for the first time, our van was/still is pretty fucked up so we weren't sure if we were going to make it but with a jerry can, stops every 90 minutes and our valiant work ethic we made it. Left Toronto nice and early to explore the beautiful city. Lots of great places, a sweet market and great people. Steve enjoyed your canal. The show was great as well, hopefully we can get back soon as we all had a blast. Thanks to everyone involved in either shows, it was a great way to end the summer.

Currently we've incorporated a bunch of new songs into the set, the records almost finished and recording has been scheduled. We've got some shows this month with Orphan Choir for their CD release and some new merch on the way. Hopefully we'll be in your city soon.

The Revisionist

So as of now the record is two songs away from completion. We are slotted to start recording with Jason O'Young in October and we're all super stoked. Also, if you're from Toronto or Ottawa come check out either of the shows we're doing with Lemuria. The Toronto show will be unreal, !Attention! and Junior Battles? Awesome.

Steve also just posted some new tracks for his solo project Hinindar, I suggest you go listen to them now as Mad Dog will make your mind explode, amazing track. LISTEN TO IT HERE

My other band Mockingbird Wish Me Luck also posted some new songs. CHECK IT OUT if you have a minute.

Hopefully we see some of you beautiful people this weekend

To Go Home

London show with Make Do and Mend was awesome. I posted a link a while back to download their newest release Bodies of Water and I really hope everyone did so. They were unreal tonight. I highly suggest trying to catch the Toronto show. Pick up the LP as well.

If you get a chance also check out !Attention! they played a rad set tonight as well and we're super stoked to be playing with them again early September.

We're going to be super busy in September, as of now we have a bunch of shows where you can check out the new material before we hit the studio in October to record the still as of yet untitled full length.

September 4th - Siesta Nouveaux in Toronto with Lemuria/!Attention!/Junior Battles
September 5th - Cafe Deckuf in Ottawa with Lemuria
September 19th - Mercelo's with Orphan Choir (CD Release) and Cousins (ex-Blurt)
September 20th - 73 in St. Catherine's with Orphan Choir (CD Release) and Cousins (ex-Blurt)

There's a few more things in the works so be sure to check back frequently and make it out at some point.

If you live in a city we haven't been in before and book shows/house shows/know someone who does let us know as we're looking to play wherever.

Falling Behind

So it's been a while since I've updated this mainly because we're not very exciting. Here's a super quick rundown.
- 3 more songs and the record is finished
- Playing a few sweet shows coming up (see flyers below)
- Aiming to record in late September/early October
- Orphan Choir should have their record soon, keep your eyes out to buy it
- The Decay are actually releasing their record. I'm not kidding. Seriously they are. Fine, don't believe me.

That's all for now, come hang out with us in St. Catherine's or Waterloo this weekend.

It's A Goddam Steal

The last 2 days were rad. We played in St. Catherine's at 73 St. Paul and in Waterloo at the Grist Mill both with Bridge and Tunnel from New York and our friends Orphan Choir from Windsor. First off, if you haven't been to 73 St. paul in St. Catherine's get on it. The space is great, everyone involved with it rules and hopefully we'll be back there in the summer with a big show that's still in the works. Secondly, you should go listen to Bridge and Tunnel, buy the LP and the 7 inches and hit at least one of the dates that are left on this tour. I got to see them twice last October and those shows were rad but these last two days blew both those away. Incredible band live, so good at what they do, and super passionate about it. Get into them. Orphan Choir were alright too I guess. They'll have their new record on CD in about a month and two months for the LP through Art of the Underground. It'll be your favourite record of 2009.

So we're slowing down the shows a bit to finish this record, more details to come (track list, who's putting it out etc)

Come hang with us in Guelph next week!

How Much Y'all Give Me If I Slam Dunk This Into The Trash Can?

So it has been a while. We just got through a string of shows that were all great (especially the CD release show) and now we're kind of letting things cool off a bit and continue writing for the upcoming full length. Almost 3/4's of the way there. We'd like to start demos late summer but we'll see what happens.

We also have some new shirts available. Thanks to Branko for his rad shirt design (we promise we'll actually pay you soon).

Before we take a bit of a summer break we're playing a much anticipated show at the Grist Mill in Waterloo.

You're not going to want to miss this, hopefully we can totally fill the Grist Mill. Rumour has it the Decay will have a limited release of their full length at this show, but you didn't hear it from me.

Friday, May 8, 2009

So we are finally having a CD Release show for the Split EP. It will be happening at The Schwaben Club in Kitchener with Lifestory: Monologue, Gran Casino, and our friends Mark It Zero. We're super pumped and we will also have a batch of new shirts for the show as well, so look out for them.

We're about 5 songs into the full length we're writing with a few more still in the works. Hopefully we'll be recording it late summer but doubt it. For now we're just trying to play as much as possible.

May 9th - The Shadow in Guelph with the Decay and the Real Deal
May 16th - The Chubby Pickle in WIndsor with Cowboy Dan
May 21st - Guelph with Arietta
May 29th - CD Release Show at the Schwaben
June 4th - House show for Life In Vacuums CD release
June 17th - Waterloo with Bridge and Tunnel and Orphan Choir

Do They Have 4:20 in America?

Hey, so just want to start by saying Windsor ruled. Not going to lie, we expected it to be a shit hole but it was super fun and there were lots of rad friends at the show. Hopefully we'll be back soon.

WE FINALLY HAVE THE SPLIT CD

That's right, it is available at all our shows for $5. Two Hundred hand assembled, hand numbered and hand drawn on CD's. If you can't see us sometime soon and just need to have it, head over to the MYSPACE and you can purchase it on the page and we'll send it to you.

We are also going to be streaming the full EP this coming 4/20 so if you're on the fence at whether you should bother picking it up or not this is your chance. So don't miss out.

While you're at the myspace check out the slew of shows we have coming up with more to be announced/booked. Do you book shows in your town? If so contact wayfarerband@gmail.com and bring us there. We'll play bedrooms, baths, parties, whatever. We're cheap too.

We're about a 3rd of the way into the full length we have begun to write and it's shaping up nicely, hopefully we can get this thing recorded sometime this summer, but don't get your hopes up.

Go listen to Orphan Choir

I'm Sorry, I Thought This Was America

Quick update.

SHOWS:
Saturday April 12th - Windsor - Coach and Horses, lots of great locals, lots of fun
Friday April 17th - Kitchener - The Schwaben Club, we have tickets etc
Friday April 24th - St. Catherines - Not sure of the venue name but it's with ben Somer and Derek Vella so it will be great.

People from any of those cities should try and make it out, we have a bunch of new songs and we're looking to party. Check the myspace if any further details are required. ALSO, we want to play anywhere so if anyone lives in a city that isn't Kitchener (or Cambridge, fuck that place) send me an email and let's party. Living rooms, basements, backyards, we're open to anything.
walkandrock@hotmail.com

Split EP's should be printed soon, we have all the artwork done, all the songs are done, we are just waiting on getting the masters for 2 of them, we are trying to have them for Windsor but we'll see what happens, we suck at this shit.

It's a Show For All The Losers

Time for a bit of an update as things have been in motion over the last little while. First off some shows. We're playing Friday March 20 at The Schwaben Club in the wild card date for the ARC Battle. Should be lots of fun, hopefully we can get some familiar faces out.

We're also in Windsor for the first time on April 10th at Coach and Horses (I think that's the name) with Lot 9 Brawl, Cowboy Dan, Gutter Hearts and possibly some others. Hopefully all the Windsor folk will make it out.

Dates in St. Catherines and other places are in the works as well.

We're looking to have our Split CD release sometime that is looking like it may be a saturday in Mid-April but we'll keep you posted as it is still very much up in the air.

Other than that we have some new merch on the way, three new songs that have been integrated into the set list with more in the works, Nicks haircut is still funny, and we're going to need some people to throw some balls at us for some promo shots which will be explained at a later date.

Click this and go hear the new Hinindar song Hard Love. I may be a bit biased but get into this shit already.

GUELPH THIS FRIDAY (THE 6TH)

Come party at our first show for March. It's an early show too so you can do whatever it is you do after seeing some sweet punk bands. We've also got a show March 20th at the Schwaben Club for the ARC Battle Wild Card date, still arranging the details of the set but working on cross-dressing acrobatics currently. Just come out and enjoy it.

London Last Night

Last night was by far one of the best shows I had been to in a while. We got there a little bit late but the Decay was even later so we looked good. Apparently they had to break a window at Ben's parent's house to get their gear because they were in Portugal or some shit, who the fuck knows. Ben Brake also felt the need to proclaim his manliness by explaining on multiple occasions how he ever-so-gracefully carried the 8x10 up a flight of stairs alone. When asked to re-create this feat at the show with the 8x10 in question, he kindly turned down the offer and made Blurt lug their amp up.

For our set there were a good amount of kids packed into the room and I had about a square-foot of space to move around in which actually made things sweeter (I'm a lazy kind of guy). There was even the odd kid who seemed to know some words, which was a first and definitely pretty rad. They also may have just been sneezing or some shit but for now I'll go with the former.

The Decay set gets a thumbs up, breaking 4 strings in one song is pretty punk. Tie Breaker were also a good time. Orphan Choir destroyed even more than usual. Seriously, if they're not your favourite band yet get on it, link is to your right. Blurt's set was nuts, kids went crazier than Nick's hair cut. Stage dives off balconies, Blink 182 sing alongs, weed, and kids losing their shit all around. It's great to see kids getting stoked on punk rock bands again. Thanks a ton to Dylan for setting this whole thing up, it was a blast.

Some shots from the night, more on the myspace. Thanks to Crustina from Windsor!

People of London and Surrounding Area

We're Not Always Useless

So yesterday we took to Jason O'Young's straight edge fortress to record our songs for the upcoming split with Hinindar. After some mild confusion and a box of Dad's Oatmeal cookies everything was set to go and we started around noon expecting to hopefully track drums and a guitar or two for the 4 tracks.

Basically everyone flew through their parts as we've been practicing nothing but these four songs for the past month and the recording was finished and has come out better than I think anyone of us could ever have imagined. There some little fuck ups throughout that will probably drive me crazy in 2 months but if it was super tight it wouldn't be punk so fuck that shit. Also for noting purposes, Steve has the most punk voice ever. You wouldn't think something so precious could deliver that kind of sound.

Highlights of Recording:
-Jason O'Young

-Nick sleeping through EVERYTHING
-Slurpees
-Actually getting it done
-Grape Lady song apparently

Coming Clean

Alright so we have got a replacement for Mike on bass and it's the young stallion on top here, Jason Whitney:

We ran through the upcoming EP today and he should be set to record with us this coming weekend. Hopefully we'll have some new songs to upload in early February followed soon after by the full digital download of the split.

We've got two upcoming shows still. See the flyer a few posts down for the show on the 31st which will be an amazing time so be sure to be there. Then February 13th in London with Orphan Choir, Blurt etc.

If you book anywhere in Ontario and by some sweet stroke of luck are reading this and desire to book us let me know. We're down for anything. Basements, garages, arenas, wherever.

Welcome to 2009, Pussies.

Our short time bass player Mike Rajna will be celebrating his last show with us tomorrow at the Schwaben Club. He's got a real future at school and shit so he had to leave. Sometimes when you love something you just have to set it free... or some shit like that. Regardless we'll miss him and his coffee addiction. So come to the show tomorrow and bid him a grand farewell!

We've got a bunch of shit lined up in the future. Shows on the 31st in Kitchener at the Sweatlodge (see flyer below) and on February 13th we play London with Orphan Choir, Blurt, Tie Breaker and The Decay. That's a pretty amazing line up so people of London I hope to see you there.

We're also doing some recording on the 24th and 25th of January for an upcoming split with Hinindar, Touch The Sky. We've got 2 brand new songs plus we made two of his real shitty. He's got some rad new material and is going to do his best to make some of our songs decent. I have no idea when we'll release it, if I gave a date we'd just be liars because nothing is ever done on time. You've read this shit 10000 times now if you even occasionally glance at this.

So you're pretty much up to date now. Come enjoy some of the shows in 2009
