One Summer Last Fall

So I've attached a picture of the shirts. I'm pretty stoked on them as well as the demo's but sizes are becoming limited so I think after these sell out I may do another run. Or maybe even a new design, who knows?

2 Weeks off starting tomorrow, we've got lots of work to do here. Three new songs in the works and we need to do some prep work for the upcoming split. We'll see how that comes around.

Check out the myspace and give the songs a listen, send the EP to your friends and get tickets from us for the January 9th date at the Schwaben.

Audio Geography

So the first two shows went pretty well. We were able to discover what we liked about the set and what needs to go/get changed around a bit. It was tough having a different line up each show but things are slowly starting to settle out. Thanks to Julian, Tyler, Nick and Mike for all at one point playing something with us. We also now have shirts to go along with the CD's so if you'd like a shirt just contact me, I'm going to have some pictures relatively soon hopefully.

As for right now we have a show lined up on January 9th at the Schwaben Club in Kitchener. It is round one of the ARC Battle so it'd be rad to get as many friends out as possible.

We also have 3 new songs in the works as well as gearing up to do a split with Hinindar, Touch The Sky! He's going to cover 2 of our songs and release some new ones while we attempt to not butcher two of his songs and release 2 (possibly 3) new songs. I don't want to set a time line because I'm late with everything we do so this way no one can hold me to anything.

Anyway here's the mock up of the shirt but they look even better in person. Thanks again to Andrew Wheeler for the incredible art work. He'll do art for cheap for your band so if you need his contact jut email me or something wayfarerband@gmail.com

Show Tomorrow!

Should be a super fun show, Orphan Choir is still one of my favourite bands in Canada and should put on a great show like always so it is best to be there. Plus it is only $5 bucks and there's a potluck dinner early on. win/win/win.

Prepare Yourselves

After a long time I've finally came through on my promise of electric tracks. I now also have a backing band so don't worry, those lame and almost non-existent lead parts on those recordings won't be around for long. Thanks a lot to Erik Oi Neill for the recordings and patience, Andrew Wheeler for the rad album cover and Bishop Weirsbickikifbsikaof for the vocal accompaniment. The digital download should be set to go soon.

We also have two shows lined up...

December 4th @ Forest Heights Collegiate Institute
It's a charity fundraiser and it starts at 7

THEN...

December 12th at something Erb Street Waterloo (check the page for legit deets)
with...
ORPHAN CHOIR
HORSES
ROUGH SEA
THE MUSIC BOX
WAYFARER
$5 or PWYC I believe

So come out and high five!

THE FEST

SO the recordings are all done and are currently being mixed but on a much better note...

I'm currently at The Fest in Gainesville Florida and it's absolutly fucking insane. I'm having the greatest time of my life. Bands I've seen so far:
FRIDAY
Bridge and Tunnel x2 (Amazing bands, melodic, technical, and fun
Iron Chic (first band of the official Fest and they ruled, soooo fun)
Next I waited in line for 2 hours for the Falcon but missed them, bummer.
Strike Anywhere (after missing the Falcon this was an excellent way to make up for it. Good mix of songs everyone was into it, great band)
La Salle (ex members of Small Brown Bike, great set, was into every song but one. Picked up the disk, can't wait to listen to it)
Chris Wollard and the Ship Thieves (Chris from HWM and the drummer from HWM, pretty fun band, nothing really special though)
SATURDAY
Atom and his Package (Come on, it's Atom, amazing)
The Lawrence Arms (One of my favourite bands ever, I also won a contest to hang with Brendan Kelly and that was so cool. Set was awesome, Second best set very close to first thus far)
Lemuria (amazing, so much fun. They're singer/guitar player looks like the happiest person on the planet. I just want to hug her all the time)
Dillinger 4 (Good to see no bullshit punk rock alive and well. Seriosly, this band is the real deal, hilarious banter but they also knew what the fuck they are talking about, great times,in my top 3 sets thus far for sure)
Polar Bear Club (WOW, I've seen this band twice before but this blew them all away. The crowd response was crazy, honestly it was probably the best set I've seen thus far, which is actually surprising considering the line up)

Also No Idea had a HUGE slae and I picked up a lot of shit:
Hot Water Music/Alkaline Trio spilt TEST PRESS

Album Art

Andrew Wheeler did up a rad album cover for me. Sneak Peek.

As Empires Expand and Collapse

So tracking wise all the drums and rhythm guitar 1 and leads and done. That just leaves Rhythm guitar 2, bass, vokills and whatever else comes up.

Played a show in a garage last night that was pretty fun. First full band show still under construction but look out for November.

Man of Conviction

So I'm actually coming through on the promise to have some recordings started in September. The full band isn't assembled fully yet so I'm just going to get the recordings done and work from there. Wednesday and Thursday will hopefully be enough time to get the drums and bass guitar done for 6 songs. Thanks to Jason for lending me bass gear and Erik of course for putting up with my shit for another recording. I'm super excited. Musically everything is ready to go, give or take a few guitar parts and the lyrics still need some fine tuning but it shouldn't be a problem. I don't think anyone reads this but I will need to assemble a moderately sized choir for some back up help. Message the myspace for deets.

Track listing looks something like this...

1. The Stream/You Never Liked Ceremony
2. Get Tough/You Cry Too Much
3. Stones/Stoned
4. AS OF YET UNTITLED/One Fucking Name
5. Reflections/Kick My dog
6. Also still untitled/They Look Like Little Baby Toes

That pretty much sums it all up I think.

So I still as of yet do not have hard copies of the acoustic EP but I'm working on it. FEST 7 is making me pretty poor right now. I assume they'll be ready around the same time as the new electric ep just because I won't feel like going to the printers twice. Anyway I'll keep progress up to date for basically no reason at all.

Wishing So Bad That It Held Some Kind of Truth

SO if you visit the myspace page the full What We've Become ep is up for download there. I posted two of the songs off of it on the player, feel free to give it a listen first to be 100% you'd wish to take up this free album. It should be available in hardcopy soon. I still have to print all the sleeves and assemble it all but I got to wait to get some cash. It will likely be $2 if anyone wants to grab one. Hopefully I can get some shows going soon.

September is slotted to do some full band recordings so we'll see how that goes.

Hate Mail Comes In August

So welcome. For the few that will see this, this will be the official WAYFARER website. Exciting, I know.

So here's what's going on, the myspace is running now www.myspace.com/iamwayfarer. The bonus track off the upcoming EP entitled What We've Become is up. Song's called If CZ Taught Me Anything. Tomorrow I'm going to hopefully finish up the EP and then off to Chicago for the weekend to see Ben Weasel. So then hopefully early next week I'll toss up a bunch more songs/the digital download of the entire EP.

It may have been a bad idea posting the bonus song because it's very misleading as the rest of the EP is far better quality and doesn't really touch 100% on the same subject matter. But I wrote it a few days ago and decided I liked it. Now here we are.

The full band is basically assembled, hopefully some full recordings will be in finished in september. First show will come eventually.

Stay posted if you'd like.
